I've been invited by Russell Brown to speak at the always-fun ADIM conference. I'll actually be spending almost an entire day with attendees helping them use Illustrator to create branding and Flash animations. It is definitely going to be a lot of fun, and the theme for the conference is going to be the Wild Wild West.

So like, are Russell's "Invitational" conferences really still by invitation only? I know they used to be back when they were hosted at Adobe and were free to the attendees (back then they were largely a way for Adobe to evangelize to influential players in the design world), but now it appears to be open enrollment, unless I'm misinterpreting the web site.
I think the days of "free invitations" are long over Teri. Russell charges a small fortune for attending his event (although you do get a full copy of Adobe Creative Suite Premium and Studio 8, which is about the same cost as the attendance). I think that Russell has made it a bit more expensive to keep the event from becoming too commercialized. It seems to be a very focused group and my understanding is that Russell turns it into A LOT of fun. I know that I'm certainly looking forward to attending...
Teri, you should ask if you can attend. I went last year and it was a blast. You would probably be a celebrity...
Well, I could tell it cost megabucks now. What I couldn't tell for sure was if the "invitational" part of the conference name is just historical flavoring now, or if you still need an invite from Russell or at least a previous attendee to sign up.
