Therefore a gpu will help certain aspects and processes of Illustrator. Is this correct?grant l. tompkinshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04180208662106983155noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20113929.post-56123558453554328952010-09-23T08:12:24.261-04:002010-09-23T08:12:24.261-04:00thank u very much :)thank u very much :)Pawan Kumar Sharmahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08530609411713715045noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20113929.post-70425003069652984722010-05-05T08:13:22.700-04:002010-05-05T08:13:22.700-04:00good keep it upgood keep it upbasilmathewhttp://www.sexindia99.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20113929.post-65480149173561943122010-03-15T23:16:35.086-04:002010-03-15T23:16:35.086-04:00As a 10-year veteran of Illustrator, I thought I k...As a 10-year veteran of Illustrator, I thought I knew just about everything there was to know about my favorite program in the Creative Suite.

But I stumbled across this article while trying to figure out why the wonderful Blob Brush couldn't keep up with my pen strokes on my (admittedly old, but certainly capable) 2 GHz G5, and I saw the "Turn off Thumbnail Previews" point.

Lo and behold, it works beautifully now. However, from Apple's website, it appears that they've eliminated the controller that connects the memory to the processor - the memory is now directly connected to the processor - in theory, this should result in faster performance with Illustrator. Secondly, they mention a Turbo Boost feature which seems to sense if an app isn't using all 4 cores, it transfers more power to the cores that are being used. This too would theoretically help.

Hope this helps.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01795570164435872662noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20113929.post-79633912891423209692009-10-21T04:36:38.168-04:002009-10-21T04:36:38.168-04:00great article. The lightbulb moment for me was when — in CS 4 — Illustrator made it possible to edit fill, stroke, effects and so on *directly* from the Appearance panel. Now it’s as powerful as Dreamweaver’s Property Inspector.

On technique, I’m a total believer in styles. They’re mandatory in InDesign, and surprisingly useful in Illustrator. Not just with text, but also when using effects on multiple objects, where you need to ensure consistency.Unknownhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02167785041327078064noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-20113929.post-91908672564888526212009-08-06T13:19:20.766-04:002009-08-06T13:19:20.766-04:00don't you love smart first comments?
