Illustrator Mac Users Lose a Great One

So I got the news today -- one of my great friends over on the Illustrator engineering team, Dave MacLachlan, is leaving. Dave is a Mac guru and while he's worked on many different features over the years, he was integral in helping get performance in line on the Mac platform. Even more important than that, he was instrumental in creating the first native OSX version of Illustrator -- which was Illustrator 10 -- which also happened to be the first shipping OSX native product from Adobe at the time.

Dave is going to be working on some top-secret Mac technology for Google, and I can only imagine what we'll be seeing in the future from him. Best wishes in your new endeavors Dave, and thanks for holding the Mac up high in the world of Illustrator.

Oh no... what a great lost for us Mac illustrator User! I have the chance to exchange a lot of time with Dave in the past 4 years on various issues and he always respond with great interest. His dedication on working so hard always impress me. A great lost for all of us and Adobe... Peoples at Google are winners now.

Thanks guys! I really appreciate the comments. I haven't been hanging around on the forums as much as I'd like to recently...my daughter has been keeping me more than busy.

Who knows...I may be crawling back to Adobe in 6 months begging for mercy ;-)
